Producer and electronic music pioneer Neil Anthony Sanford, aka El-Trip has just dropped a brand new six track EP, Going To The Moon, on December 6th via NexGen Music. Born and raised in Hertfordshire, UK, surrounded by many of the early pioneers of the drum and bass and jungle genres, Earth Leakage Trip, otherwise known as El-Trip has been a perpetual force and pioneer of the UK techno and hardcore scene since as far back as 1991 after much experimentation and finding his “voice”, El-Trip soon connected with producer Rob Playford of Moving Shadow Records and musician Simon Carter of Crystal Distortion, which would become the initial aesthetic to El-Trip, and subsequently went down in history for their debut release “No Idea” on Moving Shadow Records. Soon after, El-Trip reached numerous compilations with an electronic soul-infused sound, such as Telstar Records’ ‘Kaos Theory’ in 1992, featured alongside The Prodigy, Acen, Altern-8, 4-Hero and more, as well as Silent’s ‘Fifty Years Of Sunshine’ in 1993, including Dr. Timothy Leary, Love Spirals Downwards and Psychic TV, respectively.
El-Trip now currently resides between US and the UK, and has since collaborated with many other icons in the electronic music scene; for example, Aluna Francis of AlunaGeorge, during the time of her acclaimed project, My Toys Like Me, and many others. El-Trip has also worked with prominent labels and imprints throughout the years, like Moving Shadow Records, Rising High Records and Good Looking Records, to name just a few.
Now, El-Trip’s latest venture into the unknown, Going To The Moon EP has been unleashed in all is mesmer and glory. The opener, “Love Is At Hand” is a glistening introduction to a wonderfully curated body of work; chimes, bells, keys and solid beats all collide in a seductive yet infectious wave as various reverberated vocal samples glide gracefully by. The title track “Going To The Moon” kicks in with light percussion over grainy transmission feeds followed by an inevitably spirited, atmospheric danceable gem. Floating vocals and progressive percussion flow through each aural glimmer, balancing the cosmos. “Deja Entendu” is a textural excursion through unexplored astral planes; absorbent percussion and vocal slices caress complex instrumentation and concise production values, already leaving a long-lasting impression before the journey even comes to an end.
