yetep has just released his debut full-length project, The ÿ Album, through Lost In Dreams. Originally from Seoul and now living in Los Angeles, he first gained attention with his monthly SoundCloud mixes. These mixes helped him build a worldwide fanbase drawn to the emotional quality of his music. His genre-blending tracks have earned support from artists like Seven Lions, Dabin, and Adventure Club. He has also released music on labels such as Lost In Dreams, Ophelia, and Monstercat.
The album’s release started with a lead single in May. It mixes melodic bass, future bass, and emotional EDM, capturing the energy of his live shows and the spirit of his fans. The music brings together energy, vulnerability, and a sense of human connection. The ÿ Album is about freedom and curiosity. Each track stands on its own, but together they show how yetep first fell in love with music by exploring open format mixes and discovering new sounds without boundaries. A standout, ‘Hate It When It’s You ft Trella’, blends melodic house with UK garage influences. It balances tension and release as Trella’s airy vocals trace the push-pull of fighting new feelings. yetep layers wistful piano lines, manipulated vocal fragments, and crisp, shuffling percussion that builds toward a thick, saturated melodic bass close.
Community is very important to yetep. Through his Common Unitÿ projects, he supports homeless youth and raises awareness for mental health. That sense of togetherness is present throughout the album. Created over time, the project reflects where he is musically and personally. The ÿ Album is his biggest and most personal work yet, breaking new ground while staying true to the values that shaped his journey.
yetep had this to say: “This album came together over a long period of time and reflects where I am both musically and personally. Rather than starting with a strict concept, I wanted to let the project develop naturally and feel open, the same way my relationship with music began. Each track exists in its own world, but together they represent the freedom and curiosity that first inspired me to create. At its core, this album is about connection and honesty, and creating space for listeners to take away whatever the music means to them.“
