What About Love, released on October 10th, 2025, marks a defining moment for MONKyMAN, the Berlin-based producer whose sound has been quietly reshaping corners of electronic music. Born in Stuttgart and raised partly in Namibia, he built his craft early through Fruity Loops experiments that evolved into a global career. His tracks have earned more than 3.2 million Spotify streams, and his live sets have carried him across South Africa, New York, Thailand, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Norway, Denmark, and Paris. Along the way he has appeared at Apple Tree Garden Festival with Biig Piig and Bombay Bicycle Club, and at Fusion Festival next to ARTBAT, Monolink, and K.I.Z. The album has already been championed by Electronic Groove, House Music With Love, U.S. National Public Radio, and La Belle Musique, with support for both the release and the focus track from CLASH Magazine.
The record leans into the introspective threads that have always run through his work, shaping them into something more open-hearted and deliberate. Dreamy vocals, jazzy phrasing, and warm Afro-driven grooves anchor the project. The focus track, ‘Better In Love’, moves with a bright lift, stacking melodic layers and shakers against a vocal line that feels both generous and direct. It’s the kind of track that builds slowly but lands with clarity, folding emotional release into its rhythm.
MONKyMAN shared: “‘Better In Love’ has been with me since 2019 – it started as a simple jam made of loops that I played live at the end of every set. Over the years it’s travelled with me through countless festivals and countries – constantly changing and evolving.
When I decided to put it on the album, it finally became a real song, a kind of conclusion to the whole journey. The message is simple: walking through life with love just feels better than walking with hate, greed or envy. Some might call that cheesy, but it’s true.
