World’s Museum, the project of Brooklyn composer and multi-instrumentalist Will Burghard, just put out his new single ‘Death on the Pub Crawl’ on September 5, 2025, as part of the album Bizenteo via Shimmering Moods Records. Drawing from his classical training and deep dive into synths and electronics, Burghard crafts ambient tracks laced with experimental edges, pulling in vintage gear, toy keyboards, and NYC field captures. His catalog stays lean but sharp, kicking off with the self-released Chromazones in 2022, which leaned into cosmic experimental ambient vibes across tracks like ‘Drelsk‘ and ‘The River in the Sky‘.

Spanning 4:45, ‘Death on the Pub Crawl’ uses lo-fi synth elements and captured field audio to form open-ended spaces, allowing listeners to engage passively or achieve introspection, Where most contemporary ambient artists lean to more cosmic themes or elements of white noise, World’s Museum goes a more traditional route, evident in the background sounds that reveal structured layers upon focus. Regarding the track’s composition, World’s Museum explained that the appeal of ambient and experimental music lies in its understated quality. This approach lets you build sonic environments that audiences can explore however they choose. Influences like Erik Satie and Brian Eno, who shaped the album heavily, championed the notion of furniture music—sounds that blend into the surroundings yet draw you in with deeper layers when you pay closer attention. Just when you approach the climax of ‘Death on the Pub Crawl’, after zoning into these layers- the track ends with the sudden sound of a ceramic pot breaking, snapping you back to reality.

World’s Museum shares: “The idea that emerged from the tracks (I didn’t have an idea going into writing it) was the residual presences that humans leave behind in physical and media spaces. So you have this idea of imprints or ghosts of humans, these complex footprints that are there if you lean in and observe them but can also be ignored or unnoticed.”
