Today, Portland producer FENRA releases his first single ‘COFFEE’ on 6x Records, mastered by Aneek Thapar who’s worked with acts like Rival Consoles and Max Cooper. This cut gives a sneak peek at his upcoming debut EP Delusional, due November 28, 2025. Born in Santa Rosa, California, FENRA is the electronic name for B Laws, who got his start in music through an artsy upbringing and those early church hymns he heard with his grandmother, sparking his love for harmony.

He taught himself guitar at 14, then moved into synth work, vocals, and drumming with bands that played gigs all over the US, Europe, and Asia. These days, he’s carving out a solo path, taking cues from electronic heavyweights such as Caribou, Four Tet, Floating Points, Bonobo, and DJ Koze. He also pulls from the clean, minimal lines in Philip Glass‘s compositions and the raw, soulful feel of Gloria Ann Taylor. It’s this mix that lets FENRA build tracks blending big-picture electronic production with close-up personal touches. ‘COFFEE’ stands as a solid intro to his style that crosses lines between genres, likely hitting home with anyone into those same influences.

On ‘COFFEE’, FENRA layers left-field ambient elements and downtempo rhythms with straightforward acoustic parts. The pitched-down vocals sit alongside hammered dulcimer notes, while blurry atmospheres and light pads come together in a textured build that lets the beat ease off into a steady loop.

FENRA shared: “COFFEE’ might be my favorite song on Delusional. The hammered dulcimer / pitched vocal combo is not something I had heard before and I really like the way it turned out.
