The song ‘Mzella’ is the newest offering from formidable electronic producer Kasztan under Stemina Recordings released on the 9th of December. Hailing from Paris, France, Kasztan‘s previous alias was STAL with which he offered his debut album via Arista/Sony Music. The plush musician’s sound exhibits a rich and warm undertone that characterises the work of Ross from Friends.

High synths drip from every corner of ‘Mzella’, which are supported with spirited piano notes, resulting in a sound that displays both musical talent and entertainment prowess. This jovial sound rises to a zenith at the beginning and is sustained throughout the song. The track conjures the want to escape to a sunset-filled gathering of people eager to lavish and enjoy life with armageddon in mind and the intention to live only for the next second.

Pierre-Marie also known as Kasztan tells us about the creative development of ‘Mzella’: “Originally it was a very different track, which I totally stripped down to keep only the haunting vocal hook around which I rebuilt everything. There was such a mesmerizing, almost shamanic quality to these voices that they called for a straighter beat than what I usually make”.
