Fellow alum of the label Reflektor Records, multi-talented artist Erik Buschmann (of Klangstof) resurfaces this spring with “Worthless”, the first of two EPs that will materialise in his debut long-player for us to be released later this year. Roving down memory lane, head and feet up in the clouds, “Worthless” is the sonic crossing of a thousand mindsets and rivers of feelings at once — the very soundtrack to one’s life’s endless obstacle race and countless rites of passage. Through a complex skein of narrative sequences and bursts of poignant rhythmic uplift, Buschmann invites us to look how far we’ve come and gauge the beauty at work behind the most subtle of daily joys but also the greater griefs, summoning the resilient power of love as its guide.
